"Posada" for Immigrant Children of NYC
In Mexico a "posada" celebrates the unity between family members and friends who want to share their happiness and what they are thankful for before the Christmas celebrations.
This year we are partnered with Mi Casa es Puebla and Yonkers Sanctuary Movement to bring this festive celebration to immigrant children whose parents were deported or are in the process of being deported as a result of the "zero tolerance" policy that prosecuted immigrants who crossed the border illegally.
We were assigned 50 children. Each children was partnered with a "Mariposa Godparent" who donated a gift and participated during the posada celebration.
