Charity Auction for Oaxaca Streetchildren Grassroots
In the United States Cinco de Mayo has become
a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage.
On this evening, Proyecto Mariposa, in collaboration with Studio Rombo,
highlighted the connection between Art and Architecture within the Americas.
Studio Rombo is a team of Mexican American ambassadors from unheard to and emerging artists.
All works exemplify unique architectural inspired design, telling a story of New York City's evolution including one new piece from the artist Rombo, himself, specifically inspired by immigration.
Sculptures and tapestries represent what true cross cultural collaboration resembles.
Proceeds give directly back to Oaxaca Streetchildren Grassroots and these artists from Oaxaca that otherwise wouldn't receive proper recognition or compensation for their masterpieces.
Live music, good food, inspiring conversations, and of course, tequila!
